“I believe that what we get out of life is what we’ve set ourselves up to get, so there’s no such thing as an inconsequential decision. Our destinies are the culmination of all the choices we’ve made along the way, which is why it’s imperative to listen hard to your inner voice when it speaks up. Don’t let anyone else’s noise drown it out.”— Megan McCafferty, Second Helpings (via thesearepeopleyouknow)
you know when you have those friends you’ve known for years, and you’re so comfortable around them that you can belch in front of them and sit in silence with them and make sarcastic jokes about each other? but then… then you have those people who are just in your life for one moment, and they change your life forever. and they’re the type of people who, even though you might not always see or be with, you always carry with, and they remind you of who you are, because they will always be a part of you. they’re the people that make you feel real, and you try to tell them how much they have had an impact on your life, and yet the words never hold as much gravity as they do on your life. and it’s not that you spill your secrets to them or that they are able to understand you, they are just amazing people in themselves. and if you’re lucky enough to even have a few people like this, then your life is set, because they’re the type of people that inspire you to be as good as them, and inspire you to be even greater than you already are.
that awkward moment where the boy that hits on you wants to smoke with you and you say you’re too lazy. then you find out he lives on the same intersection, same street, same area..that he happens to live literally 10 feet away from you and will meet you at your door.
fuck. my life is full of shit like this, isn’t it.
Thinking about the past can bring up some really great memories, but you shouldn't lose yourself in those moments and forget about the present. There are equal opportunities to create memories just as good, don't miss those chances!! :P
